Occupational Safety
Basic duties in complying with occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations on the FHS premises.
The information below has been designed and approved in cooperation with the Health and Safety Technician of the Faculty of Health Sciences dealing with students' occupational health and safety in the premises and classrooms of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Senior staff members of the FHS departments are in charge of training students following Act No. 262/2000 Coll, the Labour Code, as amended.
Students commit to complying with all rights and obligations arising from Act No. 262/2000 Coll., the Labour Code, as amended, listed in Annex 1. To comply with principles, risks and rules of occupational health and safety (Annex 2a, 2b, 2c) and keep order in the theoretical classroom. To observe the Operating Regulation of professional/practical classrooms (Annex 3), the prohibition of handling equipment for which professional competence is required (dedicated electrical, gas, pressure equipment, lasers, etc.). I will take care of my health and safety, including the use of prescribed personal protective equipment and comply with principles of safe behaviour in the buildings and premises where teaching takes place and in all other teaching-related activities.
Principles of occupational safety
- familiarisation with risks and corrective measures in the performance of work and related activities (Annex 2a, 2b, 2c);
- familiarisation with the workplace and its premises, working conditions (Annex 2a, 2b, 2c);
- comply with technological procedure, including work with infectious, biological material (Act No. 258/2000 Coll., the Act on the Public Health Protection and on Amendments of Certain Related Acts, as amended);
- familiarisation with operating instructions of machines, devices, technical equipment and tools (Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll.)
During work, students always follow the teacher’s instructions. Without the instructions, students are not allowed to handle or repair equipment or tools in the theoretical or professional/practical classroom.
By the signature on the submitted document, students certify that they have been informed about the basic legal and other regulations for ensuring occupational health and safety on the premises and in the theoretical and professional/practical classroom of the FHS UP, that they have understood the information and their knowledge has been verified by an interview. All done during the introductory lesson at the start of the 1st year of their studies.
