After a year, guests from the British Northumbria University returned to Olomouc - Professor Alison Steven and Associate Professor Peta Jane Greaves. Experts from the field of nursing participated in a combined intensive program (BIP) with the subtitle Vulnerable People, which was organized by the UP Faculty of Health Sciences together with the UP Faculty of Arts. During the busy program, there was also a meeting with several representatives of the UP Faculty of Health Sciences management. The main topic of discussion was joint research activities.
"During the meeting, we talked about the education system here and in Great Britain, and then about the possibilities of visiting the simulation center at Northumbria University. A long-discussed topic was the personnel shortage of nurses, which is evident in both countries. We talked about politics, strategies, but also the approaches of individual ministries," said Daniela Bartoníčková, head of the Institute of Nursing, FZV UP. Simona Dobešová Cakirpaloglu, assistant professor of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, FZV UP, also met with both foreign experts. "We greatly appreciate this several-year cooperation, in which we see benefits both in the field of teaching and research," emphasized Simona Dobešová Cakirpaloglu.
