Information on the election of the Dean of the FHS UP

Two academics are running for the post of Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Palacký University!

The Special Election Commission of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Palacký University for the election of the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Palacký University considered the proposals of candidates for the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Palacký University at its meeting on 22nd April 2025. In accordance with the resolution on the announcement of the election, the following official list of candidates for the post of the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Palacký University was established (in alphabetical order).

Information on the election of the Dean of the FHS UP

On 25th March 2025, the Academic Senate of the FHS UP adopted Resolution No. 3/7 in the following wording:

On 25th March 2025, the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Palacký University in Olomouc announces, pursuant to §27 (1) (g), §27 (3) and §28 (4) of Act No.111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education, as amended, the procedure for the nomination of the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Palacký University Olomouc for the term of office 2025 to 2029.

Election Conditions and Procedure

The conditions and procedure of the nomination process for a candidate running for the position of the Dean of the Faculty are regulated by the Rules of Procedure of the Academic Senate of the FHS UP (hereinafter referred to as the "Rules") in Article 12. Nominations must be submitted in writing to the Chairperson of the Special Election Committee through the Recorder, Mrs Lenka Kubíčková, within the deadline specified in the election timetable approved by the AS FZV UP.

Election Timetable

1. Submission of written nomination of candidates for the position of Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences UP to the Chair of the Special Election Commission by 22nd April 2025 by 12:00 am.
2. The Special Election Committee will produce an alphabetical list of candidates and will publish the list on the FHS UP official board by 24th April 2025.
3. Submission of programme outline and other requirements by the candidates for the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences UP to the Chair of the Special Election Committee by 6th May 2025 by 12:00 am.
4. The program outlines and other requirements from the candidates are published on the official board – 7th May 2025.
5. Members of the academic community can submit questions for the candidates until 12th May 2025 by 12:00 am. Questions can be sent electronically to the recorder of the Faculty Academic Senate, Lenka Kubíčková: lenka.kubickova@upol.cz or submitted in writing to the recorder at Hněvotínská 3, FHS UP.
6. Assembly of the academic community – 13th May 2025, 13:00 Public presentations by candidates for the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences UP.
7. Election day – 19th May 2025 at 13:00 in the Dean's Office meeting room at the FHS.

The proposal must include:

• the name, surname, academic title(s) and year of birth of the candidate,
• the workplace/current occupation,
• signature of the candidate confirming his or her acceptance of the candidature; the signature may be replaced by another indisputable expression of acceptance,
• the name, surname and signature of the petitioner.

Candidate requirements for the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences UP, which are included in the nomination as annexes:

1. Candidate’s CV (according to the Europass standard with information about previous academic, managerial, other management experience and experience from abroad, summary of publications and project activities).
2. Candidates born before 1st December 1971 must produce the Certificate pursuant to Section 9(1) of Act No. 451/1991 Coll., laying down certain other prerequisites for the performance of certain positions in state bodies and organisations of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic (verified copy).
3. Candidates born before 1st December 1971 must produce affidavit signed by the candidate pursuant to Section 4(3) of Act No. 451/1991 Coll. (sample available here).
4. Nominee’s statement about a possible conflict of interest according to Article 7 of the Palacký University Olomouc Statute.

The Special Electoral Committee elected by the Senate shall verify that the nominees meets the legal requirements.
