The constitutional meeting of the Academic Senate was mostly “Meet&Vote”. Its new members were elected in online elections which took place in March. After a secret ballot, Lukáš Merz of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences was again elected president of the senate, Petra Gaul-Aláčová of the Department of Clinical Rehabilitation became 1st vice-president, and Physiotherapy student Ema Hrášková became 2nd vice-president. Senators have yet one more thing to decide: Who will become the new FHS Dean? Martin Procházka, dean since the end of 2019, has now been elected as UP Rector.
“This faculty will always be my home and I hope to return one day. Teaching midwifery is something really near and dear to me,” said Prof Procházka, who just said his goodbyes to the senators and thanked them for all their hard work and cooperation. Elections for new dean will be decided at FHS AS meeting on the 16th of April. Until they take place, Jiří Vévoda, currently Vice-Dean for Science and Research and Life-long Education, will be interim dean.
